AWOLNATION are a Electro rock band from California. This album uses a combination of machines and natural instruments to make a more contemporary twist on arena rock music. Within the music there was occasionally choir singing, some string instruments I think, synths, piano. It was a lot. It was so overly dramatic, it sounded like that lame generic dramatic music someone would use to make a “Joke” in a vine. However the music was great compared with the vocals and lyrics. The singing was an annoying blend of screaming, arena rock singing and softer annoying singing. His voice was just annoying. It made me angry how bad this was. Imagine if you fused Bon Jovi with The Chainsmokers, imagine how terrible that would sound, that was this album. Ah! The lyrics, good lord were they lame. They were so generic, mind numbing and (I hate to use the word again) annoying. I felt brain dead listening to them. The choruses on this album just straight up sucked, they were laughable. I started to question if this was a joke or not. Some bad albums are bad because they’re boring, this album definitely wasn’t boring, it was too ridiculously irritating for that. It made me replace “Favourite Song(s)” with “Least Favourite Song(s)”.
Least Favourite Songs: Mayday!!!, Fiesta Fever, California Halo Blue, Lightning Riders, Radical, Half Italian
Score: 1/10
