Hockey Dad are a band from Wollongong, NSW. This is their third full length album. On their first two albums they were mostly surf rock and managed to make some of the best Australian bangers of all time. I don’t know if it’s just me not being 15 anymore but hockey dad doesn’t seem to go as hard as it used to. I think it might be because I cringe at my former self but a lot of the songs kinda came off as a bit lame. Also I think they switched up their style just a little bit on this one, it’s a bit grungier. The lead singer, Zach’s singing is still very unique and even a bit nostalgic. I found myself really liking the isolated vocal parts, more than I would expect to on a Hockey Dad album. This album was not really really bad, but also, in my opinion their worst one. But that could possibly be a reflection of who I am now verses whatever I was trying to be in year 9. Really makes you think.

Favourite Songs: Good Eye, Germaphobe, Heavy Assault, Dole Brother

Score: 5.5/10
