Quelle Chris is a producer/ rapper who I think is super underrated. His Bohemian music style and off the wall lyrics are so appealing to me. I’ve been a big fan of Quelle since 2015, when he released his album Innocent Country. So innocent country 2, 5 years later, was a nice full circle experience for me. I would say the most notable aspect of Quelle’s rapping is his humour and political commentary. There are some funny lines and songs on this, but overall this is definitely his most dark and gloomy album yet. That doesn’t mean his lyrics were any less creative or hard hitting though. His lyricism on “Honest” was incredibly good, he really is one of my favourite rappers currently. His voice is just nasally and unique on this album as it is on his others. But this time there’s an element of sadness to each song. Chris Keys’ beats were great as well. They were Atmospheric and smooth, they matched the mood and pace of the rapping. I really enjoy Chris and Quelle as a duo, I hope we get an Innocent Country 3. I think that if you wanna listen to really insightful, not too serious, alternative hip-hop, Quelle has made about 6 suitable albums in a row now. I really liked this.
Favourite Songs: Honest, Living Happy, Sacred Safe, Bottle Black Power Buy Business, Black Twitter, Mirage.
