I personally believe that Mf Doom is the greatest rapper ever to live. His complex rhyming patterns are unmatched, he has a vast vocabulary, he raps about nothing and everything at the same time. The appeal of Doom is his mysterious personality, he takes on the role of a supervillain determined to conquer the world. This larger than life alter ego takes away the down-to-earth, personal aspects of music, but is never not intriguing. On this album, every song is about food and consumption. Doom is egotistical, vulgar and unhinged, he really plays the role of villain. One of the best things about any of his albums is the comic booky samples as quotes scattered throughout and worked into the beat. The samples were a massive part of this album. They were all based off of superhero cartoons. And there are recurring characters, which is unusual but really creative and made the album even more of a joy to listen to. Doom is also a 1st class producer as well as a rapper, so the beats were all his vision. They fit perfectly with the ridiculously eccentric character of doom in this album. I love mm...food so much. Its just fun, it’s lyrically phenomenal, it’s goofy, it’s amazing.
