This is Aminé’s 3rd album. I really like a Aminé, I think he’s very talented and knows how to write a song. And there are many good songs on this album. The first track, “burden” is pretty cool, it has a nice beat that features a sort of vocal sample I guess (Yes, I understand production). Throughout this album there are many mentions and references to Kobe. I feel like this gave the album something of a small concept, which is always nice. I think that Aminé is a perfect blend of lyrical and more modern styles of hip-hop. These songs would be enjoyable for any rap fan I think, no matter what side of the fence you’re on. Aminé is a really good songwriter, he manages to make really good points about serious topics all while having a great sense of humour. He mange’s to make a wide range of references while still sticking to the main topic. I think this is a very good album, but I think he could make an even better one, one day.
Favourite Songs: Burden, Roots Compensating, Pressure In My Palms, Fetus
Score: 8/10
