KYLE is a rapper from Los Angles. When I was reviewing the Lil Yachty album I touched on a style of rap that is positive and optimistic in a very appealing way. When I think about that particular aesthetic, my mind goes to Yachty and KYLE. I think that it is because they both have very playful voices and the melodies and beats they use are always very catchy. They work so well together, I was extremely disappointed that there was no Lil Yachty feature on this album. The best and main content for this album is KYLE’s tales of success, showing off his success and telling us how sure he was that he was going to be successful. I’ve never been too proud to enjoy braggadocios songs, I think its one of the most entertaining album concepts in hip-hop. Especially it’s done the way KYLE does it, with amazing creativity and funny exaggeration. Unfortunately this album wasn’t all good. There are a few break up song on here and they’re just okay and in my opinion they kinda ruin the flow of the album (“The Sun” was a definite skip”). I wanted to go back to KYLE being overly sure of himself. That’s why “Mr. Man & K.i.D” was so refreshing and welcome after four mediocre sad songs that did not suit his style. I really enjoyed about half of this album and didn’t really enjoy the other half at all. I think the songs I liked would be great summer songs, which is a shame because its been so rainy and cold where I live.
Favourite Songs: Money Now, Girls, YES!, Forget, Mr. Man and K.I.D.
Score: 7.5/10
