As you all probably know Pop Smoke was a rapper who was fairly new on the scene. But sadly died earlier this year before he could release this album. But with a lil help from 50 cent, here it is. I believe this is my first post mortem album review, so I tried to make that not cloud my judgement. I’ve never been a huge huge fan of the drill style that this album is in. But on the song “44 Bulldog” I thought the intensity was cool. Other than that I thought there were a few other tracks that went pretty hard, particularly “Something Special”, I thought Pop’s flow was a little bit more palatable for someone who struggles to appreciate drill (like me). I also really liked “Got It On Me”, it’s quite chilling, if you think about his cause of death. Because 50 cent (the executive producer) only had limited recordings of Pop for the album, it includes big long features, I didn’t really think there was a single good one. If you liked Pop Smoke’s first two albums, you’ll probably like this one too. Unfortunately I don’t think drill will ever be for me. R.I.P. Pop Smoke
