DMA’S are a rock band from Sydney and they have a little bit of a cult following in the UK (through performing with Oasis). I had only heard a few songs from them before this album, and I was surprised to hear how dancy it was. It really does sound like a 90s Britpop album. There are sound affects that sound almost like lasers, they appear a little too frequently for me. Once you know about the tie with Oasis, it’s impossible to not hear their influence. The singing is clean and clear, just like Noel. Unfortunately the Oasisness got to the songwriting, there are times when the lyrics are so generic it’s painful. The important thing is to not fixate on that. Because many of the songs were very good at just being catchy, easy-to-listen-to rock songs. There’s not really that much to be angry about. It’s just a bit boring. But also not really my type of thing.
