Album Review: Ungodly Hour by Chloe x Halle

Chloe and Halle are two sisters who used to act in movies, but now are making rnb music. I don’t want to say that they’re industry plants, but they have been pushed down the commercial music fan’s throat since like 2018, without really having a massive hit. Luckily for them, I predict a hit in this album. If it’s not the deceivingly sinister “Tipsy” with awesome production, it might be the groovy, catchy “Ungodly hour” or it might be the conventional pop song, “Do it”. There is a good range of style on this album. One of my favourite songs is “Don’t Make It Harder On Me”. The breathy harmonising vocals with that melody is straight up beautiful. Amongst the pop melody, trap beats and other modern music things, there are a few super emotional soul verses (Wonder What She Thinks Of Me). It reminded me of like Etta James or someone else like that. Enchanting. In conclusion, production, great! Vocals, great! I’m excited to hear more.
